Features RAILTRAC® Implementation Bourque
Data Systems, Inc. provides extensive implementation, training, and support
services for all software product lines. Our reputation for fast turnaround
is well-known. The implementation process for RAILTRAC® is as follows: Rail Fleet Data Extraction
Our client outputs data files for CLMs and Shipments (up to two year history),
routing
and consignee masters, and railcar profiles and sends the files to BDS.
BDS begins conversion of the data into loadable data sets for Oracle, SQL
Server,
or Sybase databases.
Our clients begins work on a shipment data feed to be used by RAILTRAC®
detailing
(at minimum) the Car ID, ShipDate, Consignee, Routing, Product Shipped.
The database script is e-mailed or FTP'd to the client DBA and BDS works with
the client
to size and implement the database and assign security levels.
Program executables, data link libraries (DLLs), help and initialization files
are zipped
and e-mailed or ftp'd to the client techie who unzips them in a designated
RAILTRAC®
network directory.
Using an ODBC connection, the clients converted data is loaded to the database
and audited/verified
with transportation managers.
BDS personnel implement routines whereby the client's daily shipment records
and CLM
records are downloaded and moved into RAILTRAC®. Client is now live with RAILTRAC® ! Users begin training the next day using the system which now contains their own live rail fleet data. |
